MY Wealth Management, Inc.'s origins date back to 1978 when Pete McGlaughlin started Tax Qualified Trusts, Inc. Jeff Yeakle joined Pete in 2003 and the firm became known as McGlaughlin Yeakle Financial Advisory. In 2013 Pete and Jeff decided to venture into the Registered Investment Advisory world and MY Wealth Management was formed.
To this day we honor Pete's vision by providing each client excellent service and personal attention.
The first step in our investment process is to understand your sensitivity to risk. We believe the level of risk in your account should be based on income, resources and the emotional conviction to live through both ups and downs of the market.
It is important to understand the potential downside risk of a portfolio. Investors should avoid selling during a major downturn in the market, which is why it is so important we understand your risk tolerance. Once we understand this, we’ll match you with the investment model to help you achieve your goals.
Our philosophy of investing is based on Modern Portfolio Theory (MPT). We believe a portfolio should be in the market, to some extent, at all times. Our model portfolios are diversified across asset classes and investment strategies. We use both tactical and strategic investment strategies in our investment models. This combination, we believe, gives a better risk adjusted return through various market cycles.
Our portfolios use exchange traded funds (ETFs) which are typically lower cost to own and allow us to be more aware of tax consequences. While tax sensitivity is important, we do not believe in taxation being the main reason to hold or sell an investment.
